What makes The Wistful Wayfarer different from booking online?
Booking engines can spit out lists. I craft stories you can step into. Each journey I design is bespoke, infused with intention, and elevated through my global partnerships. You will not get the same itinerary as another traveler. You will get one built around you. My role is to be your curator, your advocate, and your secret key to experiences the internet cannot unlock.
Where do you plan travel to?
The destinations that hold my heart include Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, Bali, Japan, New Zealand, and the Maldives/Bora Bora. These are places that feel like they were designed for romance, adventure, and once-in-a-lifetime memories.
But I am not bound by borders. With my Virtuoso and ASTA connections, I can craft curated journeys almost anywhere in the world. From a Tuscan wine escape to a lantern-lit temple stroll in Kyoto, every itinerary is woven uniquely for you.
Are you affiliated with any professional organizations?
Yes, and that matters. I am a proud member of ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors), which upholds the highest standards in the industry. I am hosted by Uniglobe Travel Center, a respected network that provides the infrastructure and resources to support my clients worldwide. I also partner through Virtuoso, the world’s leading luxury travel network.
Together, these affiliations mean my clients enjoy insider access, room upgrades, resort credits, private guides, and experiences not available to the everyday traveler.
Do you only book honeymoons and luxury trips?
Romance is my muse—honeymoons, milestone anniversaries, soulful escapes. But my canvas is wide. I also create wellness retreats, family adventures, solo journeys, and celebratory group getaways. If it deserves to be unforgettable, I’ll craft it.
Do you charge a planning fee? If so, what does it cover?
Yes. I believe the most memorable journeys start with thoughtful design, and that requires time and expertise. My planning fee is a one-time, non-refundable investment that ensures your trip is seamless, elevated, and uniquely yours.
It covers:
Research and design: Tailored itineraries created around your story.
Insider connections: Handpicked hotels, tours, and experiences with perks you cannot find online.
Booking and management: Every moving part handled and every detail tracked.
On-call support: From our first conversation until your return home.
This fee is separate from your trip cost, and it allows me to design without bias, focusing only on what will serve you best.
Do you charge commission on top of my trip cost?
Never. Suppliers pay me commission. Your planning fee is transparent and separate. No hidden markups, no surprises, just clarity and trust.
Can I book flights only through you?
Yes. Though let’s be honest, who actually likes booking flights? No one. Airlines make the process a maze, and I also pay fees on my end to issue tickets. So that cost gets passed along as a $50 fee for domestic flights and a $100 fee for international flights.
When flights are bundled into a full vacation package, I waive the fee. Most clients prefer it this way since everything is handled together and flows seamlessly. I am happy to arrange premium and luxury air as part of your journey, but if you are hunting for a rock-bottom budget fare, that is best booked directly.
Consider it me taking the flight-booking headache off your plate so you can focus on dreaming about champagne toasts and beachside cocktails instead.
What’s the booking process like?
Discovery Call – We chat about your vision and your vibe.
Proposal – I design a first draft of your journey.
Refinements – We shape it until it feels just right.
Booking – I handle the reservations, payments, and details.
Bon Voyage – You travel with confidence, knowing I’m with you every step of the way.
Do you handle last-minute trips?
Yes, but magic takes time, and last-minute means options may be more limited. Still, I’ve pulled off miracles before.
What if something goes wrong while I’m traveling?
Travel isn’t always perfect, but you’ll never face it alone. Whether it’s a canceled flight or a booking hiccup, I’m your advocate. And thanks to my partners on the ground, you’ll always have local support at the ready.
Do you offer payment plans?
Most of my suppliers do. Typically, you’ll place a deposit and settle the balance closer to departure. I’ll guide you through the timeline so you always feel prepared.
Do you only work with couples?
Couples are my specialty, but not my only muse. I also design solo escapes, family adventures, and group celebrations. If you want a journey that’s intentional, elevated, and unforgettable, I’m here!
